Also possible is “Translation+Desktop Publishing (DTP)” such as
1) translating English/German source (original) texts (docx., xlsx., ppt., indd) into Japanese, then
2) adjusting layouts by modifying the length of lines, recreating
tables and graphs, balancing spaces etc.
Please see "DTP" as well.
Proof-reading (Japanese)
I provide proofreading and correction of texts written in Japanese.
The service ranges from checking accuracy to appropriacy in typography, grammar, expressions & wordings, styles and contents.
Teaching Japanese
Here “Japanese” means Japanese both as a foreign language and mother tongue.
I offer tailor-made private lessons based on your needs as well as interests. For example, you may focus on kanji learning, Japanese business conversation, writing applications or CVs and preparation for exams such as the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) or university entrance exams.
I am pleased to go anywhere to provide my lessons such as your home, workplace, classroom, event location etc. Online-lessons through Skype or Zoom are also possible.
DTP
(English, German, Japanese)
It is quite often the case that the layout of the source (original) text is altered in the process of translation.
The changes of layout can be problematic especially in translation of texts such as on PowerPoint slides, webpages, prospectuses/brochures/leaflets, where text boxes or hyperlinks often have restrictive sizes that cannot be overridden.
The DTP service I offer conforms the format of the target (translated) text layout to the source text layout.
Taking an example of converting Japanese PowerPoint slides into English slides, the operations are normally,
1) Overwriting Japanese texts with English translation,
2) Modifying the layout of each slide by adjusting the
length of translations, balancing spaces, recreating
tables or graphs (if necessary),
3) Ensuring aesthetic consistency (e.g. typography,
positioning of headings) over working slides as well as similarity in layout in the source and target texts.
In DTP service, I work on all the three languages: English, German, Japanese and in two-way: English⇔Japanese, German⇔Japanese English⇔German.
